I woke up this morning laughing about a life changing event I witnessed about a year ago at LAX when I was waiting for my flight to Toronto.
I was just sitting there minding my own business and noticed a young boy maybe 13 years old fighting with a payphone. (Yes a Payphone) He kept looking over at his father and throwing his arms up in the air and saying "Its just not working dad, I don't understand I dial the number and nothing happens!!" His dad just sat there shaking his head and told him to keep tyring. The boy went from one payphone to the next and back again.
By this time I was starting to laugh and had to hold the tears back.
With defeat in this boys eyes he finally gave up and went to his dad and told him "I just can't call home. What am I doing wrong". The Dad replies" Well son... Do you have the change I gave you?" The son replies "YES" Dad says " Well son...first you need to lift the handset off the cradle, then insert the change and then dial the number" The son replies "SNAP" In a blink of an eye he jumped to his feet ran to the closest payphone and did exactly has his dad told him. Then He looked over at his dad and gave him two thumbs up!!
Who thought learning how to use a payphone would be life changing?
